About This RoleWe believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for performing advanced structural analysis and design of flight vehicles in the Strategic Missiles Business Line. The Analyst will also guide and review structural analysis performed by junior analysts. The position requires extensive expertise in Ansys for structural analysis as well as the use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and other analysis software.
The analysis techniques used, as well as the compiled results, will be summarized in presentations and detailed design analysis reports.
- Serve as a senior structural analyst performing complex static and dynamic structural analyses of flight vehicles in the strategic missiles and reentry vehicle area.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in structural analysis techniques and best practices. Review structural analysis models and results produced by the analysis team.
- Utilize a combination of ANSYS and other software tools (both COTS and Textron developed) to generate structural characteristics and responses.
- Define recommended changes to improve the performance/efficiency of structural design features.
- Summarize results and design application techniques during the above activities via presentations and design analysis reports.
- Up to 5% travel may be required.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in structural analysis and design (Level III).
- 10+ years of experience in structural analysis and design (Level IV).
- Extensive experience performing structural analysis in Ansys.
- Extensive experience in the generation of structural characteristics and responses.
- Desire to obtain a working knowledge of Textron developed software.
- Demonstrated capability/experience in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to document structural analysis methodology and results.
- Excellent communication skills are required, as the position requires the description/documentation of structural analysis techniques and results using a variety of tools (PowerPoint, Word).
- Active security clearance is preferred, ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
- This role is open at multiple levels. Candidates will be hired at a level consistent with their background and experience:
- Level III: $115,800 - $176,200
- Level IV: $142,600 - $218,400
