General Summary

Our Sales Associates are responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the station during their shift, within company policy. This includes ensuring the shift contributes to increased profitability and growth, and ensuring our customers’ needs are met every step of the way. We empower our employees to step outside the box to offer best‑in‑class service to all customers each day.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work a flexible schedule as needed and communicate verbally and in writing with various management about store operations on a quick timeline, especially any changes or items that may influence operations.
  • Interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Prepare a shift report at the end of the shift per company guidelines.
  • Be 18 years of age or older.

Customer Service

  • Provide the best customer experience to every customer.
  • Greet every customer with a smile and sincere greeting.
  • Suggest possible purchases and promote specials.
  • Assume full responsibility for the execution of the customer service program at the site level.

Safety & Station Appearance

  • Do what is necessary to minimize safety risks to employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ensure all environmental and hazardous material regulations are strictly enforced.
  • Maintain safety and security of the store, documenting any accidents or incidents that occur.
  • Manage maintenance of the customer environment inside and around the perimeter of the store.
  • Operate all assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Support implementation of our Safety and Health program.
  • Promptly report workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses.
  • Complete the new employee safety orientation procedure.

Qualifications

  • Read, understand, and write the English language at the eighth‑grade level.
  • Perform arithmetic calculations at the eighth‑grade level to make change, complete shift reports, and account for a variety of products during vendor check‑in.
  • Validate identification prior to selling tobacco and/or alcohol (per regulations).
  • Lift up to 30 pounds and carry cases of milk cartons, soft drinks, beer, and juice containers using proper lifting techniques.
  • Remain calm and respond per policies and procedures in any form of emergency.
  • Tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
  • Work in various temperature environments (coolers, outside in varying weather, and in the store).
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Requirements

  • Ensure physical maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and attractiveness of all store facilities.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Traverse and access all areas of the store.
  • Spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Spend prolonged periods standing.
