Position Summary
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in the facility by performing the following duties. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.
Responsibilities- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment and perform routine, scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Discuss machine operation variations with management or production workers to diagnose equipment problems.
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Monitor the progress of maintenance activities for effective compliance with maintenance plan.
- Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
- Respond to inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
- Repair hand tool equipment.
- Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Develop and conduct interior painting on an annual schedule.
- Conduct minor plumbing work as required.
- Conduct minor building repairs as required.
- Clean, organize, and assist in all custodial work as needed.
- Conduct inspections of facilities and recommend repairs and upgrades when needed.
- Clean and maintain buildings and facilities.
- Perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering.
- Repair and maintain physical interior structure of establishment.
- Manage and control spare part and facility maintenance inventory.
- Perform other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 to 4 years of experience.
- Forklift operator’s license is required.
- Driver’s License is required.
- Journeyman’s card is desirable.
- Knowledge of TPM principles and practices.
- Use and knowledge of inspection equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
- Knowledge and use of test equipment such as multi-meters.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics.
- Knowledge of HVAC.
- Understanding of manufacturing equipment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent data entry skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.

Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to stand.
