Japanese logistics company is seeking a Warehouse Staff.
General
Summary:
This position is responsible for loading, unloading, and movement and storage of materials/goods around the warehouse and surrounding work area.
- By checking and confirming addresses; by examining damaged goods and following prescribed procedures for response; by checking surface label, attached documentation, and dimensions; by determining if shipping errors are the result of manufacturers error or some other factor; by creating and submitting a receiving reports including O/H reports, O/H labels, damage report, and discrepancy notices; by applying O/H labels on the appropriate goods;
by ensuring the accuracy of the surface label and O/H report; by verifying inland freight charges and any COD amount due, either by chart or telephone confirmation with trucking company; by sending and receiving information via email, fax, etc; by troubleshooting any problems in a timely manner and informing appropriate management; and by performing any other tasks as required by management.
- By weighing cargo; by inspecting cargo; by packing and ensuring inventory list is correct; by picking up correct cargo according to copy 8 and applying house/direct labels to the surface of goods; by putting the necessary shipping mark on packages; by repairing and repacking shipping boxes as needed; by checking for appropriate number of packages per shipment in order to prevent miscounts and missing items;
by troubleshooting any problems in a timely manner; and by performing any other tasks as required by management.
- By ensuring that all goods are properly secured and stored during the moving, loading, and unloading processes; by stacking packages in accordance with safety instructions to ensure packages are not damaged; by moving cargo and company supplies to maximize the utilization of space for storage; by providing appropriate instructions to forklift operator; by securing appropriate storage area as necessary; by maintaining O/H file;
by repairing and repacking damaged containers; by making an inventory of goods to report to customers; by troubleshooting any issues in timely manners and informing appropriate management immediately; and by performing any other tasks as required by management.
- By inspecting incoming shipments according to instructions by customers; by recording information about damaged and or missing incoming items; by informing and following up with customers regarding discovered discrepancies in shipment or goods; by troubleshooting any problems in a timely manners and informing appropriate management immediately; and by performing any other tasks are required by management.
- By using tools provided by the company (phone, fax, email) in order to maximize productivity and to accomplish tasks on time.
- By participating in meetings; and by reporting problems to management verbally or in writing in order to avoid confusion and further problems.
- By adhering to prescribed safety precautions; by applying appropriate guidelines to abnormal incidents and or accidents; and by troubleshooting any problems in a timely manner and informing appropriate management immediately.
- By being flexible in work assignment; by covering for other staff as needed; and by accomplishing related tasks when requested.
- By attaining job-related certification; by keeping up on industry trends; and by applying that knowledge to the job.
- By being open to feedback from peers, supervisors, and clients; by using the feedback to improve performance.
