Acute Care and Outpatient Seeking an Ophthalmologist to join an established practice in Wilmington, North Carolina. This position includes management of emergent ophthalmologic conditions within an acute care setting, along with a broad range of ophthalmology surgical cases and a variable schedule.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive eye exams and vision testing

Diagnose and treat ocular diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and traumatic eye injuries

Perform ophthalmologic surgeries including cataract, glaucoma, retinal, and laser procedures

Prescribe corrective lenses and ophthalmic medications

Educate patients on eye health and preventive care Collaborate with optometrists, technicians, and other medical specialists

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and remain current with ophthalmology advancements

Qualifications:

MD or DO degree

Completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency

Board Certified or Board Eligible through the American Board of Ophthalmology preferred

Active, unrestricted state medical license or eligibility

Strong clinical, surgical, and communication skills
