The Cameron School of Business, UNCW, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of the Practice position. This is a professional faculty role, initially offered as a one-year contract with the possibility of renewal indefinitely for longer contract periods.
The successful candidate will be a creative, innovative, and effective teacher capable of contributing to the school’s undergraduate level and/or master’s level programs in the Finance area. They are expected to teach seven courses (21 credit hours) per academic year and produce at least one publication over each 5 years employed.
Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to service (examples include but are not limited to committee work, supporting departmental/college level events, professional talks, supporting student competition teams, and mentoring), research (examples include but are not limited to presentations at meetings and conferences and publications in field of interest), and impact activities (examples include but are not limited to executive education involvement, building and maintaining relationships with industry partners, alumni engagement) that positively enhance the school, business community, and society.
- Ph.D., DBA, or an equivalent terminal degree in Economics or a closely related discipline from a nationally accredited institution.
- In exceptional circumstances, a combination of advanced graduate education, relevant certifications or licensure, and significant experience at the highest levels of professional practice may be considered in lieu of a terminal degree.
- Relevant professional certifications (for example, CFA or CFP)
- Experience teaching at the college, university, or community college level.
- Experience developing courses
- A distinguished career in finance
