Kid Strong Coach - Kid Strong Wilmington

Compensation:

  • $25 per class (Certified Coach)
  • $10/hr for training hours
About the Role

A Kid Strong Coach is the heartbeat of our center—delivering high‑energy, engaging classes for kids from walking age to 11 years old. Coaches create a fun, safe, and developmentally rich environment while helping families understand the “why” behind our programming.

Responsibilities
  • Coach:
    Deliver Kid Strong’s evolving Brain, Physical, and Character curriculum.
  • Teach approximately 4 classes per week (ideally 2 back‑to‑back).
  • Must be available to work weekends on rotation.
  • Achieve Kid Strong Coach Certification through HQ Training & Certification.
  • Attend required in‑person training on February 23–25, 2026 (Monday 10:45‑8pm, Tuesday 8:45‑8pm, Wednesday 8:45‑8pm).
  • Attend pre‑training the week of February 16, 2026 in the Wilmington center (approx 6 hours) + additional 2 hours online training in Learn Upon.
  • Attend at least one tabling event before opening.
  • Create positive interactions with students and families before, during, and after class.
  • Maintain a dynamic, fun, motivating, and professional presence while coaching.
  • Demonstrate and implement all programming elements with accuracy.
  • Use the KS Coaches App to record data (attendance, awards, etc.).
  • Communicate professionally with co‑workers via Slack and check messages periodically.
  • Start and end classes on time and follow curriculum pacing.
  • Work in a physically demanding environment (walking/running several miles per shift, lifting equipment up to 25 lbs).
  • Safely support children physically and cue proper technique.
  • Assist parents of students ages 3 and under with class flow.
  • Complete ongoing Learn Upon training as assigned.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings.
  • Learn and assist with Kid Strong Camps during school breaks (Winter, Summer, etc.).
Leadership
  • Build relationships with families to support retention.
  • Proactively engage families and promote program value.
Center Operations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Kid Strong families.
  • Support community and marketing events as needed.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and center upkeep.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist families while in the center.
Skills & Qualifications
  • A passion for working with children (non‑negotiable).
  • Athletic, coaching, or teaching background with experience coaching ages 15 months–11 years.
  • Comfortable speaking with parents and guardians.
  • Pediatric OT/PT experience is a plus, not required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of exercise techniques, physiology, and body mechanics.
  • CPR certification required (or willing to obtain).
  • Self‑starter with strong follow‑through.
  • High energy, enjoys the spotlight, and loves mentoring kids.
