The School of Nursing (SON) within the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) invites applications for nine‑month, full‑time, tenure‑track/tenured Assistant or Associate Professor positions beginning August 2026. Tenure‑track faculty have teaching, research, scholarship, and service expectations. Primary teaching responsibilities will be assigned across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, including student advising and mentoring.

Faculty are expected to engage in professional and community service and contribute to ongoing program evaluation and improvement. Successful candidates will be expected to relocate to North Carolina and maintain a campus presence as part of the SON faculty. Applicants should demonstrate the potential for high‑quality teaching and a sponsored program of research.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate nursing courses with a commitment to student advising and mentoring.
• Develop and maintain a sponsored research program.
• Engage in professional and community service, including program evaluation and improvement.
• Maintain a campus presence and relocate to North Carolina as required.

• Doctoral degree in nursing OR a doctorate in a related discipline with a baccalaureate or graduate degree in nursing at the time of application. Applicants with earned degrees will be given preference. If ABD at the time of application, the degree must be conferred by August 1, 2026.
• Demonstrate the potential for high‑quality teaching and a sponsored research program.
• A clear direction for research and scholarly activity is required.

• Teaching experience.
• A focused program of research (beginning or advanced) and scholarly activity that complements existing school research and scholarship focus.
• Clinical experience in community, mental health, adult health, and pediatrics.
• Experience with AI use in educational and professional settings.

A current RN license in North Carolina or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina.
