Assistant Professor Analytical Chemistry

Overview

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a nine‑month, tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Analytical Chemistry, beginning August 2026. The role combines teaching, research, and service in a student‑focused environment.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in analytical chemistry, and additional courses as needed.
• Develop and sustain an externally funded research program that actively involves undergraduate and graduate students.
• Provide academic advising and mentoring for undergraduate students.
• Participate in departmental service, including committee work, meetings, and special projects.

• A Ph.D. in analytical chemistry and postdoctoral experience are required.
• Research experience at the doctoral or postdoctoral level in analytical chemistry.
• Demonstrated ability to establish an independent, externally funded research program.
