Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The School of Social Work, located within the College of Health and Human Services, is seeking temporary/part time faculty for the 2025–2026 Academic Year.
The 2025–2026 Academic Year includes the following semesters:
- Fall 2025
- Spring 2026
- Summer 2026
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Undergraduate course teaching: Masters degree with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Graduate course teaching: Terminal degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Those with equivalent verifiable professional experience, certifications, and licensures in the discipline may also be considered.

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The School of Social Work (SSW) is dedicated to the development of excellent social workers through in-depth education, professional partnerships, applied research, regional engagement, and outreach. Our School prepares students to help individuals, families, and groups build upon strengths to meet challenges of poverty, discrimination, health, and mental health issues. UNCW social work graduates work in social service, health, and mental health agencies throughout the state and beyond.
College/School Information
The College of Health and Human Services was created in July 2010 to provide UNCW with a new mechanism to link and focus its health-related research, professional continuing education, and health knowledge dissemination and application. It is home to three professional schools:
School of Health and Applied Human Sciences, School of Nursing, and School of Social Work.
