This entry level position will make immediate contributions to the team responsible for dose and dispersion radiological analyses, while being technically mentored by a team of high‑performing engineers.
- Perform technical evaluations and provide technical support in source term, decay heat, onsite and offsite dose and dispersion analyses, keeping worker doses As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA), and other radiological nuclear safety analyses.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate activities with the technical leaders, internal and external team members, project engineers, and customers on engineering/technical issues.
- Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with GEVH engineering procedures.
- Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with NRC, CNSC, or other regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards.
- Apply engineering fundamentals and first order engineering principles to establish and/or confirm expected results.
- Manage time effectively to provide quality deliverables within the expected project timeline. Communicate effectively to leadership the status of work activities.
- Effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Contribute to team process improvements to drive speed and simplification.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a closely related science discipline from an accredited college or university.
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
- Self‑starter, energizing, results‑oriented, and able to multi‑task.
- Eager to learn and expand skills.
- Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills.
- Experience with BWR technology and sodium fast reactor technology.
- Knowledge of plant operational support.
- Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements.
- Experience with RADTRAD, ARCON, PAVAN, XOQDOQ, GALE, WinMACCS, SCALE, ORIGEN, MCNP, GASPAR, LADTAP.
- Object‑oriented programming experience such as Python, C#, C++.
This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export‑controlled information from the U.S. Government.
