Electrical CAD Designer

Our client is looking for an Electrical CAD Designer to join a collaborative engineering team in Wilmington, NC. This role focuses on designing electrical systems for a mix of commercial, institutional, and public sector building projects. You will work alongside mechanical and plumbing colleagues to produce construction and permit documents, with a good balance of design work and hands‑on project support.

• - Design power distribution systems, including riser diagrams and panel schedules
• - Develop low voltage infrastructure for IT and security systems
• - Create lighting designs, including fixture selection, controls, and lighting calculations
• - Design fire alarm, security, and controls systems
• - Calculate electrical loads, fault current, and voltage drop
• - Produce construction and permit documents for building projects
• - Conduct field surveys and provide support during construction

• - Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering
• - 2+ years of electrical building systems design experience
• - Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
• - Knowledge of building codes and standard construction design practices
• - PE, EIT, or EI certification preferred
• - Experience with power distribution and low voltage systems preferred
