Monday-Friday, Full Time

Location:

On-Site/Serving New Hanover & Brunswick County

• Provides comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nutritional care for adolescents and adults.
• Participates as an integral member of the health care team in day-to-day activities, including patient care appointments, individual plan development, patient groups and education.
• Works under the supervision of the Primary Care Practice Manager.
• Performs other duties assigned.
• Provides assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nutritional care for clients referred by clinicians at clinical sites in New Hanover and Brunswick Counties as scheduled.
• Provides education and counseling to patients on nutrition, healthy eating and lifestyle changes.
• Monitors and documents patient progress and adjusts patient’s nutritional plans as needed.
• Collaborates with other medical and clinical staff to assess, organize, and facilitate patient groups surrounding healthy living, healthy eating and other identified needs.
• Develop and distribute educational materials on nutrition and healthy eating that can be shared with staff and patients.
• Provide training and education to staff as appropriate on nutritional care. Participate in staff meetings as appropriate, whether regularly scheduled or especially called, to update on issues related to nutritional care.
• Be available for consultation during normal working hours.
• Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of the medical center on a daily basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor Degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics from an accredited university with an approved internship or qualifying experience.
• Licensure/
  
  Certifications:
  
  Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). State of North Carolina license as a licensed dietitian/nutritionist (LDN).
• Experience:
  
  One-Year experience as a clinical dietitian.
• A valid driver’s license and/or government-issued  required. Must have reliable transportation.
