Position: Phlebotomy Technician I- Family Med

As a Phlebotomy Tech I, you'll safely collect and prepare blood samples from patients for testing, donation, or transfusion while following proper procedures and maintaining patient comfort. What You’ll Do
  • Collect blood samples from patients using proper techniques and safety protocols.
  • Prepare and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing or transfusions.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of blood samples.
  • Verify patient identity and record relevant information.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following infection control guidelines.
  • Assist patients by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
  • Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education: High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: One year of relevant phlebotomy experience, preferred.
  • Additional skills required: In NHmg setting, perform waived and moderate testing that meets TJC, CLIA and COLA regulations. Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks and to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public.

    Ability to follow written protocols, work independently, and communicate clearly.
