Family Centered Treatment Therapist – New Hanover County

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a Family Centered Treatment Therapist to provide a full range of mental health therapy services for clients with complicated mental health disorders using the Family Centered Treatment model. The position is based in Wilmington, NC.

• Provide independent diagnostic and psycho-social evaluations and therapy services focusing on complicated mental health issues, family issues, parenting issues, adolescent issues, substance abuse, and addiction impacts on daily living and relationships.
• Evaluate client and family situations, conduct comprehensive clinical interviews to determine psycho-social, mental health, substance use, and medical needs, document diagnoses and recommendations, develop person-centered plans, and provide ongoing monitoring, assessment, and updates.
• Provide in-depth therapy ranging from crisis intervention to treatment of complex co-occurring mental health and personality disorders.
• Offer individual, group, and family counseling and activities adapted for persons with physical disabilities, co-occurring disorders, mental illness, substance abuse/dependence, intellectual disability, developmental disability, and substance abuse/dependence.

• Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field.
• Meet NCAC 27G.0104 requirements as a Qualified Professional for Mental Health.
• Preferred:
  Master’s degree in human services or related field plus two years progressive experience in child and family mental health/substance use counseling, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
