• Work Schedule:
  
  Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm (no weekends or holidays).
• Location:
  
  1520 Physicians Dr, Wilmington, NC 28401.
• Department: GI Surgery Clinic.

• Coordinate and assist providers to ensure safe, high‑quality and cost‑effective services and care for patients within the practice population.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program with a curriculum that includes pharmacology and medication administration. Certification/registry must be obtained by the last day of the sixth month of hire and an education agreement signed. Accepted certifications include:
  • CMA – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • CCMA – National Health Career Association (NHA)
  • RMA – American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • American Allied Health (AAH)
  • RMA – American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
• Experience: Previous work in a medical office preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA, or CCMA, required.
• Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department‑specific skill validation and competency testing.
