Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 36 or 48-hour weekly schedules available

• Patient ratios of 1:6 for floor surgical/medicine inpatient patients

• Every other weekend requirement with float capability to like units when needed

• Must have minimum 2 years of surgical unit experience

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH

• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, surgical drains, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions

• Preferred skills include titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, chest tube management

• Work with special equipment including wound vacs, chest tubes, NG tubes, JP drains, hemovac drains, and penrose drains

• Use Epic documentation system and Pyxis medication system

• week contracts accepted with maximum 7 days RTO allowed

• 2 days hospital orientation plus 24 hours floor training

• Navy scrubs required (all navy or navy bottom/white top)

• May be required to work Storm Team/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

• Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours per week
