Base pay: $55,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for all employees within the organization.
  • Accurately enter and maintain payroll updates, in coordination with the Human Resources Department, into the company’s payroll system which includes information regarding new hires, terminations, employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions.
  • Ensure organization adherence to Tribute Companies Personnel Policies and Procedures as it relates to time entry approval of regular hours worked, overtime, holidays, and accruals of vacation, leave time, and payouts.
  • Issue or reissue physical or replacement checks, or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Verify the accuracy of federal, state, and social security tax deposits.
  • Reconcile and process annual reports for W-2’s and related calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
  • Complete employment verifications.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS and provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assist employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Distribute all benefits enrollment materials and determine eligibility.
  • Enroll employees with carriers and process life status changes.
  • Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, and status changes, including 401(k) enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts. Manage the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process.
  • Provide necessary payroll reports for job costing allocation/billing charges.
  • Assist with new-hire orientations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities;
Education & Experience

A strong knowledge of payroll tax and wage laws and common fiscal procedures is necessary along with excellent communication skills and computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office applications. General knowledge of payroll internal control practices and attention to detail and efficiency. The ability to operate independently, with urgency and accuracy is required as well as excellent customer service skills.

Associate’s degree with coursework in accounting, finance, business administration, human resources, or related field required, and moderate experience in a payroll processing position or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in human resources or finance.
