Join Barclays as a Strategy Implementation Analyst, where you will have a primary focus on credit strategy implementation. In this role, you will need to have a solid analytical foundation and practical experience with key technologies, particularly SAS and Python. Familiarity with databases such as Oracle and Hadoop will further enhance your ability to manage and interpret complex data environments. Additionally, you will be responsible for documenting detailed requirements, participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production Validation Testing (PVT), resolving production issues efficiently, and generating clear, actionable reports.

Your contributions will ensure that strategic plans are executed with precision and that systems operate reliably in a fast‑paced production setting.

To be successful as a Strategy Implementation Analyst, you should have:

  • Proficiency in SAS and Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation of strategic processes
  • A solid analytical background with proven experience in interpreting complex datasets and deriving actionable insights
  • Practical experience with Oracle and Hadoop databases, including querying, data extraction, and performance optimization
  • Demonstrated success in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production Validation Testing (PVT) to ensure solution integrity
  • A history of resolving production issues quickly and effectively, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability

Purpose of the role

To use innovative data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves, leveraging these insights to inform strategic decision‑making, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organisation.

Accountabilities
  • Identification, collection, extraction of data from various sources, including internal and external sources.
  • Performing data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis.
  • Development and maintenance of efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing.
  • Design and conduct of statistical and machine learning models to analyse patterns, trends, and relationships in the data.
  • Development and implementation of predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to seek out opportunities to add value from data through Data Science.
