Job Opportunity – Med Surg Neuro RN – North Carolina

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts ), 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available, 13-26 week contract lengths accepted, 12-16 weekend shifts per contract required

Highlights:

• Specialized neuro unit caring for patients with neurosurgical procedures and neurological diagnoses including CVA and pre/post neurosurgery care
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and respiratory services
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• 36-bed unit with 2 orientation shifts provided after hospital-based orientation
• Floating required within facility; candidates must be available for storm/hurricane team assignments during catastrophic events
• First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Neuro experience preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, heparin administration, and wound care
• Experience with peripheral line care, starting and maintaining IVs, and non-invasive airway management
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
