American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg
- Neuro RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2 years of neuro experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

• Medical Surgical
  - Neuro unit setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15)
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Contracts of 13-26 weeks accepted
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Floating required
• Every other weekend required
• Uses Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication, documentation, and communication

• Active NC or compact RN license required (pending license/certs OK for submission)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with CVA and neurological/psychiatric care
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required (pending references OK at submission)

• Provide nursing care to neurological and medical-surgical patients, including CVA and cardiac monitoring cases
• Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and could be required to report during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster
• Unit orientation is 24 hours with weekly scheduling
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• No more than 7 days of RTO allowed, with no RTO during the first week of assignment and none on major holidays
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous PERM, PRN, or EP employees of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details for facility approval
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units with separate transportation
