American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Neuro unit requiring 2 years of relevant experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

• Medical Surgical Neuro unit caring for neuro surgical and neuro diagnosis patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
• 36 or 48 hour contracts accepted, with contract lengths of 13-26 weeks
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Weekend requirement of 12-16 weekend shifts per contract
• Floating required
• Uses Pyxis, SBAR, and Epic for medication, documentation, and communication
• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team or Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• BLS required
• ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• 2 years of relevant RN experience required
• Neuro experience preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

• Provide medical surgical nursing care to neuro surgical and neuro diagnosis patients
• 2 orientation shifts on the unit following hospital based orientation
• Navy scrubs required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• First time travelers accepted
• Travel pairs allowed if each has own transportation and is comfortable with different schedules
• Local candidates accepted at a local rate
• Previous Novant Health or New Hanover PERM, PRN, or EP staff must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or less can be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of assignment due to orientation
