Position Overview
SHRA Temporary Worker/Landscape – Department:
Landscaping, University of North Carolina Wilmington. This temporary role supports campus grounds maintenance and landscaping services.
- Plant flowers and plants.
- Trim grass, edge walks and driveways.
- Perform general grounds maintenance: trash pick‑up, new landscaping, irrigation installation, pruning, mowing, and manicuring of all campus properties and lots.
- Assist with removal of snow, ice or debris as required and may work during adverse weather.
- Some grounds maintenance experience.
- Valid NC Driver’s License.
- High school graduate with planning, mowing or landscape/labor experience (preferred).
- Workdays:
Monday–Friday. - Hours per week: 40.
- Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Temporary position (maximum 11 consecutive months without a full 31‑day break). Temporary assignments may be extended.
- Salary: $15.00 per hour.
- Number of openings: multi‑positions.

This is a temporarily assigned position. Employees do not earn leave, are not considered permanent state employees, and are subject to Affordable Care Act guidelines.
