We're seeking enthusiastic, hard‑working individuals to join our production crew on an as‑needed, on‑call basis
! This temp labor position is ideal for someone who loves working outdoors, wants to learn the nursery trade, and takes pride in producing quality plants. Work is weather‑dependent and based on business needs
, providing flexibility while allowing you to gain valuable experience in horticulture.
- Schedule: On‑call / As‑needed basis
- Availability: Work assignments depend on weather conditions and business demand
- Pay Rate: $16.16/hour
What We're Looking For
Must‑Haves- Genuine interest in plants and eagerness to learn horticulture
- Strong work ethic with the ability to stay productive and self‑directed
- Flexible availability to accept work assignments on short notice
- Reliable transportation and the ability to report to work when called
- Physical fitness to lift 50 lbs, stand/walk for 4‑hour periods, and work on ladders up to 10 feet
- Ability to operate manual transmission tractors (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Keen attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or after‑hours when needed
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to pass drug screening and post‑offer physical assessment
- Love working outdoors in all seasons (yes, even the hot summers and chilly winters!)
- Take pride in doing quality work and seeing tangible results
- Can quickly transition between tasks and find your next job without constant direction
- Enjoy physical work and being on your feet
- Are safety‑conscious and follow protocols (including wearing ankle‑high work boots)
- Understand the seasonal and weather‑dependent nature of nursery work
- Can maintain flexibility with changing work schedules based on operational needs
This is an active, outdoor role requiring:
- Lifting, carrying, kneeling, stooping, squatting, bending, reaching, and grasping throughout the day
- Exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, and ice
- Work around horticultural chemicals with proper PPE (respirators, protective suits, gloves, boots provided)
- Close vision, color vision, and depth perception for plant identification and quality control

As an independent contractor, you will:
- Receive payment via 1099‑NEC (not W‑2)
- Be responsible for your own taxes, including self‑employment tax

- Have flexibility in accepting or declining work assignments
