Boiler Service Technician – Level 2
Responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing hot water and steam boiler systems in commercial and industrial settings. Requires troubleshooting, burner setup, combustion management on dual‑fuel systems, basic electrical control and motor wiring, and combustion theory knowledge.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of hot water and steam boiler systems.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of combustion theory.
- Perform burner setup and combustion management on dual‑fuel systems.
- Apply solid knowledge of electrical systems (basic control and motor wiring).
- Provide coaching and guidance to other technicians on boiler repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed.
- Prepare for on‑site installation and repairs by examining building layout and coordinating work.
- Inspect vehicles and maintain records of service manuals and repairs.
- Maintain tools and equipment and document work on each job.
- Represent company as direct customer contact.
- Determine parts to order for repairs and keep current on manufacturers’ products.
- Provide technical support to customers and sell products and services.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Associate degree in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning or equivalent, plus 3 years of related experience.
- Valid driver’s license and EPA Universal Certification.
- Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook proficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including reading simple instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills for rate, ratio, and percent calculations.

Occasional sitting; frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, climbing; constant standing, walking, reaching, and gripping. Lifting up to 115 lbs. occasional, up to 50 lbs. frequent, up to 25 lbs. constant. Very Heavy Physical Demand Classification.
Work EnvironmentOutside, mechanical rooms, possible extreme weather. Exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, wet/humid conditions, fumes, vibration, electric shock, chemicals, cold, heat, loud noise.
