Description of Work Do you enjoy working outside and with your hands? The NC State Parks has a Maintenance/Construction Technician II position available. This role is responsible for hands on work maintaining grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment. Work includes, custodial tasks, boundary line clearing, routine maintenance, trail maintenance, trash collection, mowing and trimming, prescribed burn assistance and/or auto mechanics.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks in a trade such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC and facility maintenance, and/or auto mechanics.
• Operating large and small equipment and/or tools.
• Purchasing resources in accordance with state purchasing policies and procedures.
• Maintaining records and preparing operational forms.
• Assisting in housekeeping.
• May Supervise temporary and permanent staff, community service participates, and/or volunteers on special projects.

Recruitment Range: $35,596 - $45,950

Candidates meet the minimum qualifications of this position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Demonstrated work experience performing trades in at least two of the following: carpentry, plumbing, electrical and/or auto mechanics.

Demonstrated experience in performing grounds maintenance/landscaping.

Demonstrated experience in performing maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds maintenance equipment.

Position/

Physical Requirements:

Typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, must be able to work evenings, holidays, and/or weekends when necessary. This schedule may vary.

Must be able to perform work inside and outside in various environmental conditions with or without reasonable accommodation.
