Pay Range: $20-$25 an hour.

Key Performance Objectives
  • Pit and Line Testing
    • Performance Metric: Achieve 100% accuracy in pit and line testing results with less than 2% deviation from quality benchmarks.
    • Expectation: Efficiently conduct pit and line sampling and tests, providing precise data on material performance and quality throughout production. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of testing procedures and equipment.
  • Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
    • Performance Metric: Maintain a 95% or higher accuracy rate in DSC analysis, with all reports reflecting correct interpretations of thermal properties.
    • Expectation: Operate DSC equipment with minimal supervision, accurately interpreting data to determine key material characteristics. Ensure timely completion of DSC testing and analysis.
  • Ash Analysis
    • Performance Metric: Consistently achieve a 98% accuracy rate in ash content measurement, with all results aligning with specified standards.
    • Expectation: Execute ash analysis procedures with precision, including proper equipment calibration and sample preparation. Document and report findings accurately.
  • Moisture Instrumentation (MI)
    • Performance Metric: Ensure a 97% or higher accuracy rate in moisture level measurements, with prompt identification and resolution of discrepancies.
    • Expectation: Operate and calibrate moisture instrumentation effectively to monitor and control moisture levels. Provide accurate readings and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Safety and Compliance
    • Performance Metric: Achieve zero safety incidents related to testing procedures and ensure 100% compliance with safety and quality regulations.
    • Expectation: Follow all safety protocols rigorously while performing tests, including proper handling of equipment and materials. Ensure all procedures comply with internal standards and industry regulations.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Performance Metric: Complete 100% of test documentation and reports within designated time frames, with no errors or omissions.
    • Expectation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all tests performed, including methods, results, and corrective actions. Prepare clear and detailed reports for review.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Performance Metric: Contribute to at least one process improvement initiative per quarter, demonstrating measurable improvements in testing efficiency or accuracy.
    • Expectation: Actively participate in quality improvement projects and suggest enhancements to testing procedures. Stay informed about industry advancements and integrate new practices as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate’s degree in quality assurance, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Proven expertise in plastics testing, DSC, ash analysis, and moisture instrumentation.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in operating DSC, ash analysis, and moisture instrumentation equipment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in quality assurance or testing methodologies are advantageous.
Working Conditions
  • Environment: Laboratory and manufacturing settings.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and operate various testing equipment safely.
