R+L Carriers – Women in Trucking Company Culture Position DescriptionR+L Carriers has an immediate opening for an Entry‑Level Security Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are eager to start a career in a trade. As an Entry‑Level Tech, you will receive comprehensive on‑the‑job training and mentorship from experienced technicians, gaining valuable hands‑on experience installing, maintaining, and servicing security and fire alarm systems.
Job Responsibilities- Assist in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of security and fire alarm systems including IP Camera/CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, intercom, etc.
- Pull, route, install and terminate structured cabling infrastructure in a commercial environment
- Learn and apply technical skills such as system configuration, wiring, programming, and testing of alarms and security systems
- Assist with equipment staging and project inventory documentation
- Collaborate with technicians to diagnose and resolve system malfunctions and service issues
- Follow industry standards and safety protocols at all times
- Positive attitude
- Ability to Travel Extensively
- Must be self‑motivated and demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of team
- Comfortable with physical work including climbing ladders, carrying tools, and working in different environmental conditions
- Be willing to utilize aerial lifts for service and installation of cameras, etc.
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
- Good communication skills, including the ability to interact with site managers, contractors, and team members
- Strong computer skills
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record, as travel to job sites is required (company vehicle provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or coursework related to electrical or security systems are a plus but not required
- Previous work experience in a related field (such as security, fire, electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical) is a plus but not necessary
