the Role

The Mechanical Piping Foreman supervises the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems within industrial and commercial projects. This leadership role ensures piping work is executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards, coordinating with project managers and other trades. The foreman supervises a team of pipe fitters and laborers, provides guidance to maintain productivity and adherence to timelines. Also manages project budgets related to piping activities to balance safety, cost, and quality.

Ensures piping systems meet design specifications and regulatory requirements, contributing to project success.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of pipe fitters and laborers to ensure timely completion of piping installations and repairs.
  • Oversee pipe bending and fitting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain safety protocols and quality standards on-site, conducting inspections and safety meetings.
  • Manage project budgets related to piping work, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless workflow.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance skills, productivity, and safety awareness.
  • Prepare progress reports and documentation related to piping activities and workforce performance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Piping Foreman or similar supervisory role in piping systems installation and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of pipe bending techniques and piping system components.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain quality standards and enforce safety regulations on construction sites.
  • Experience supervising and managing teams of skilled tradespeople.
  • Familiarity with project budgeting and cost control related to piping projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in pipe fitting or mechanical piping from a recognized trade school or institution.
  • Experience with computerized project management and budgeting software.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, or API.
  • Previous experience working in industrial sectors such as oil and gas, power generation, or manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership training or certification.
