Role Overview

Our new Technical Paraplanner role sits within Equilibrium’s Transformation team and will enable an experienced paraplanner to add real value to clients, Financial Planners, and Client Managers through the production of high‑quality, compliant suitability reports and application packs for our specialist propositions. Beyond report writing, the role will support the development and launch of new propositions by testing advice processes, refining templates, and delivering training to our client‑facing teams.

Combining strong technical expertise with process thinking, our Technical Paraplanner will help ensure Equilibrium’s specialist services are delivered consistently, efficiently, and in line with an evolving regulatory environment.

To Achieve This, Our Technical Paraplanner Will
  • Produce comprehensive suitability reports and application packs for specialist propositions including Business Relief products, Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs), Enterprise Investment Schemes (EIS), estate planning solutions, charitable trusts, and workplace pensions, ensuring documentation is accurate, clear, and compliant.
  • Translate complex financial and technical concepts into clear, accessible language, enabling clients to fully understand recommendations and make informed decisions.
  • Support our client‑facing teams with workplace pension analysis and suitability reporting, assessing scheme features, costs, and investment options and presenting recommendations clearly and compliantly.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance suitability report templates, ensuring they remain up to date with regulatory changes, reflect Equilibrium’s premium brand style, and support efficient report production.
  • Contribute to the launch of new propositions by testing advice processes end‑to‑end, identifying issues, and suggesting improvements to documentation and workflows before client delivery.
  • Deliver training and knowledge transfer to client‑facing teams where responsibility for new propositions is not centralised, ensuring teams understand technical requirements and implementation processes.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and compliance across all technical documentation, staying current with regulatory developments and ensuring FCA requirements are consistently met.
  • Work collaboratively with Financial Planners, Client Managers, and Compliance to ensure specialist advice is delivered efficiently.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of five years experience working within a paraplanning role.
At Equilibrium, We Live Our Values Through The Following
  • Integrity – we treat everyone with respect, take responsibility for ourselves and what we do, and are open and authentic in all of our dealings.
  • Growth – we foster a growth mindset, with a curiosity and desire to learn and grow both professionally and personally.
