Location: Wilmslow (Fully Office-Based)

Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE+ discretionary annual bonus

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Accountant to join a growing specialist lender based in Wilmslow.

Working closely with the CFO and Management Accountant, you will support core accounting processes, take ownership of key reconciliations and journal postings, and contribute to delivering high-quality financial information that supports decision‑making across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, takes pride in accuracy, and is keen to develop both technically and commercially within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the month‑end close process, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Prepare and post journals accurately and efficiently
  • Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations
  • Review funding and loan‑level data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with the preparation of financial reports for senior stakeholders
  • Support external audits by providing required documentation and analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen financial controls
  • Maintain a strong focus on data integrity across all financial activities
Requirements
  • Experience with end‑to‑end transactions and month‑end processes
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Fully or part‑qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) – desirable
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Experience in specialist lending – desirable, not essential
