Overview
Industrial Engineer Co-op (Summer/Fall 2026) – Onsite at Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, in Wilson, NC.
Collins Aerospace is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. Our Avionics team advances flight deck solutions, onboard communications, vision systems, sensors and fire protection for commercial and military customers. This co-op provides hands-on experience in a production environment and the opportunity to learn from industry professionals.
What You Will Do- Support process improvement projects focused on productivity.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning projects.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for optimization and standardization.
- Create and maintain documentation such as process maps and standard work instructions.
- Application of industrial engineering principles in a real-world production environment.
- Process optimization techniques and tools such as 5S, Kaizen and value stream mapping.
- Networking opportunities through exposure to cross-functional team members and leaders within the organization.
- Professional development in communication, teamwork, and leadership within a corporate setting.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (Minitab, SQL, Power BI, etc.).
- Experience in AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Coursework or project experience in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
The base pay range cited in the job post is $37,000.00/yr – $82,000.00/yr. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k) match, paid time off, holidays, and more. Specific benefits depend on the business unit and applicable agreements.
