Assesses, and plans interventions to help patients cope with social, emotional, economic, and environmental problems.

Masters of Social Work required

Licenses:
Board Certified Social Worker in the state of North Carolina (LCSW or LCSW-A) prior to hire

Certifications:

Handle With Care within 30 days of hire.

• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

• Interviews and assesses patients and/or patient family, caregivers, and/or legal representatives.
• Determines, prioritizes, provides and/or arranges for needed internal and external therapeutic services/interventions.
• Conducts therapy and therapeutic groups for patients daily.
• Consults with healthcare team members to promote, monitor, and evaluate compliance with patient treatment plan.
• Assists with discharge planning and processes. Identifies appropriate resources, including transportation, housing, healthcare, and social/spiritual services, and provides referrals as part of the discharge plan.
• Supervises and/or trains new staff, students, and interns.
• Provides individual, family and group therapy.
