Overview
The Enterprise Storage Engineer delivers and supports Enterprise Storage solutions using IBM Flash System Storage, MDS SAN switches, and IBM Scale GPFS running on RHEL.
Responsibilities- Administer, configure, and design storage solutions based on IBM Storage Scale (formerly IBM Spectrum Scale & GPFS).
- Troubleshoot complex problems within multi-petabyte storage and backup environments connected to large data analytic/ETL environments.
- Automate provisioning and configuration tasks for large-scale infrastructure using platforms and tools such as Ansible Automation Platform and Git Lab.
- Monitor infrastructure health and respond promptly to hardware and software issues.
- Support and maintain technology standards, processes, and policies related to on-premises and cloud infrastructure within the scope of the role.
- Contribute to large bank projects by providing consultancy on data processing infrastructure architectures.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation describing hardware and infrastructure setups, including maintaining a highly available Scale cluster environment.
- Support the research, testing, and implementation of storage solutions while participating in strategies for all future storage services to deliver Truist business objectives.
- Participate in vendor partnerships, assist in improving storage service delivery, and troubleshoot and deliver Scale storage services.
- Administration and Configuration:

Support and maintain technology standards, processes, and policies for on-premises and cloud infrastructure. - Documentation:
Maintain comprehensive documentation and charts describing hardware and infrastructure setups, and ensure a highly available Scale cluster environment.
- 4 Year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Ten to fifteen years of experience in system design/architecture aligned with the responsibilities for this position.
- Extensive knowledge and recent experience in troubleshooting, implementing and supporting enterprise storage, SAN, storage management, and security technologies and platforms.
- Five+ years of experience with IBM enterprise storage and SAN, with strong design, engineering, implementation, support, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with IBM Spectrum Scale, IBM FS9200/9500, Cisco MDS SAN switches, and Linux RHEL 8/9.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python.
- Proficiency in Ansible automation and Ansible Automation Platform.
- Experience designing and implementing automation workflows for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using Ansible.
- Ability to develop custom Ansible playbooks, roles, and modules to automate tasks.
- Familiarity with Git for version control of Ansible code.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot automation issues.
- Commitment to staying current with trends in automation, Dev Ops, and infrastructure management.
- IBM Spectrum Scale certifications or related software experience are advantageous.
- Five+ years of storage management experience; 2+ years in team management of storage, Linux, or infrastructure engineering teams is a plus.
Candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to Raleigh, NC;

Richmond, VA or Plano, TX due to in-office requirements.
