Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Warehouse Manager oversees the day‑to‑day operation of the warehouse and shipping and receiving area. The role ensures that customer needs are met through the timely and efficient movement of products and materials in a high‑volume, fast‑paced distribution environment. Additional responsibilities include cost control, overtime, and overall expense management.

Essential Job Functions
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain food quality and safety per quality standards and SAFE Quality Food requirements.
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees, with responsibility for hiring, performance management, and termination.
  • Provide training, direction, instruction, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Guide and train on work standards and expected outcomes.
  • Plan and evaluate performance, staff training and development, recruitment, and pay recommendations.
  • Coordinate warehouse activities and maintain budget control.
  • Develop the team through continuous improvement and by setting clear, challenging goals.
  • Maintain strong links with 3rd‑party suppliers and address any issues promptly.
  • Resolve stock issues and provide feedback on key performance indicators such as accuracy, performance, output, and efficiency.
  • Manage stock destruction and aged stock removal processes.
  • Ensure warehouse personnel practice good housekeeping, perform stock counts, and move stock safely using pallet trucks or forklifts.
  • Establish priorities and direct loading workforce to satisfy customer demand.
  • Plan and execute logistics with trucking firms to ensure timely pick‑up and delivery while minimizing freight costs.
  • Resolve operational problems, minimize cost, and prevent delays.
  • Negotiate trucking contracts to keep freight costs competitive.
  • Ensure product and warehouse security.
  • Handle damaged product orders and monitor returned product status.
  • Communicate with manufacturing personnel to secure materials for production.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and SOPs to ensure consistent quality and operating efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT and safety regulations, certify warehouse personnel on equipment.
  • Represent the company positively at all times.
