** Description of Work
** The NC Department of Adult Correction continuously recruits for Licensed Practical Nurse positions and will accept applications regardless of whether there is a current vacancy. Employees in this class participate in nursing assessments, provide personal care of patients/inmates, take routine vital signs, feed patients, monitor intake and output, collect specimens, change aseptic dressings, deliver routine respiratory therapy and other treatments, catheter and colostomy care, stock supplies, admit patients, give routine medications and assist the Registered Nurse and Physician as needed.

Salary Range: $39,864 - $59,797

** This Licensed Practical Nurse position provide routine care and treatment of patients, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, within a state correctional facility. It also will be providing direct nursing care to patients, within the scope of practice.  
* Responsibilities to include but not limited to the following duties:
** Demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing and skills attendant to its practice
* Screening, observing and assessing patients
* Providing basic wound care and personal care to patients
* Delivering routine respiratory therapy and other treatments, catheter and colostomy care, collecting vital signs and specimens, preparing and administering medications, administering/interpreting TB skin tests
* Observing and recording pertinent patient information
* Responding to emergencies
* Assisting the Registered Nurse and Physician
