American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on night shift, requiring NC or compact RN licensure and prior telemetry experience.

• Work in a Medical Surgical Combination unit serving as Med/Surg overflow
• 22-bed telemetry unit with patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post cardiac cath care
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other or every third weekend required (12-hour weekend shifts)
• Floating required
• No call requirements
• Uses Welch Allyn V/S machine, Hoyer Lift with weight scale, Abbott Glucometer, Computers on Wheels, TR band, and Baxter IV pumps
• Meditech EMR used; prior experience preferred
• Reports to Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse

• Active RN license (NC or compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred
• EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills a plus
• Experience managing discharges and admissions and basic cardiac drip knowledge preferred
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

• Provide nursing care to telemetry and med/surg overflow patients including monitoring, discharges, and admissions
• Team-oriented and flexible personality fit preferred
• Artificial nails are not permitted
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule
