Sales Manager

The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the automotive sales department. This role involves leading a team of sales representatives to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.

  • Regional posting for multiple dealerships in the Seattle Area as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high‑performing sales team.
  • Motivate and inspire the team to achieve sales targets and exceed customer expectations.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure adherence to the dealership's sales process and best practices.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to enhance sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Foster a customer‑centric, hospitality‑based culture within the sales department.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure that customers have a positive and memorable experience throughout the sales process.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Manage vehicle turn rates and minimize stock obsolescence.
  • Monitor and analyze the department's financial performance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase profitability.
  • Manage expenses within budget.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and dealership policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrates a high "HQ" (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness, optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self‑awareness, and integrity.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Automotive Sales Manager or 5+ years in an F&I or Floor Manager role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive industry and sales processes.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting:
    The majority of the workday is spent sitting at a desk, using a computer and phone.
  • Standing and walking:
    There may be times when the sales manager needs to stand, walk around the dealership, or attend meetings.
  • Reaching and bending:
    The manager may need to reach for files, supplies, or equipment.
  • Lifting:
    Occasionally, there might be a need to lift or move documents, supplies, or equipment.
