The Laboratory Technician 2 (Lab Support – Media Prep) is a full‑time permanent position, follows a Monday through Friday 7 AM to 4 PM work schedule. This position is located in Wilsonville, Oregon.

What you’ll be doing
  • Prepares various microbiological media (broths, tubes, plates) used for identifying and quantitating bacteria of interest and concern.
  • Makes chemical reagents used in the preparation of media.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records.
  • Operates autoclaves, pH meters, dispensing units, balances, and glassware washers.
  • Performs quality control as needed of supplies.
  • Serves as back‑up analyst for microbiology sections by performing standardized tests on food, dairy, water, and other samples.
What are we looking for? To Qualify for the Position, You Need:
  • Two years of experience performing routine, standardized analytical tests and laboratory procedures in accordance with well‑defined written instructions AND high school courses in chemistry, biology, mathematics, or any course which included laboratory work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • An Associate’s Degree in Laboratory Science may substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Some walking and heavy lifting of no more than 30 lb may be required.

  • Experience working in a laboratory setting (not just academic labs).
  • Experience preparing and maintaining records of microbiological media and reagent preparation.
  • Experience using analytical tools: pipets, balances, volumetric glassware, etc.
  • Experience keeping accurate and legible records.
  • Experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
  • Able to work alone or with a team as tasks require.
  • Reliable.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Consistent work output.
  • Communicates effectively with co‑workers.
