Job Mission

ASML is the world’s leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines that are critical to the production of integrated circuits or microchips. This position is for a First Line Support Production Engineer in the Production Engineering department at Wilton Factory, CT. The candidate will work with cross‑sector employees & teams to provide rapid responses to engineering disturbance notices and support operator dashboards to maintain production output.

Responsibilities
  • Spend 75% of time in the cleanroom supporting production processes and leading troubleshooting actions.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical assembly, tooling/test‑stand issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Use cleaning solvents safely, per EHS guidelines, to remove product contamination.
  • Interpret mechatronic signal processes and required reports.
  • Support analysis on test data and draw conclusions.
  • Develop OCAPs, fishbones and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Evaluate and disposition failed parts with proposed solutions.
  • Support development of manufacturing procedures, technical work instructions and design reviews.
  • Support root‑cause and cycle‑time analysis as needed.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal design teams to validate and explain failures and identify resolutions.
  • Read mechanical, electrical and optical drawings.
  • Provide occasional weekend coverage as required.
  • Work in a cleanroom environment with full gowning (full body coveralls, hood, CR safety shoes, face mask, nitrile gloves and safety glasses) under ISO 9000/14000 standards. Operate around overhead cranes, fork trucks, motorized pallet movers, lasers, ladders, platforms and chemicals.
Education & Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics with 2+ years of experience in a technical production or manufacturing environment.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics engineering with 2 internships in a technical production environment.
Additional Skills & Work Experience
  • Solid understanding of complicated manufacturing assemblies.
  • Experience with multi‑disciplinary (electro‑mechanical) assemblies.
  • Experience with integrated hardware/software testers.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Python or MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and FMEA.
  • Knowledge of NX, Teamcenter, SAP and Twinscan software.
  • Experience with vacuum systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot optical surfaces against defined Scratch‑Dig specs.
