OverviewThe Senior Payroll Analyst will play a key role in overseeing day‑to‑day payroll operations, ensuring compliance, and leading a small team. This position requires a detail‑oriented, task‑driven professional with strong leadership capabilities and experience managing multi‑state payroll, including California.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily payroll tasks and ensure timely, accurate processing for 1,000 employees
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, with emphasis on California requirements
- Supervise and guide two payroll administrators, providing mentorship and support
- Collaborate with the Payroll Manager and report directly to the Director of Payroll
- Assist in consolidating payroll processes for two entities
- Utilize newly implemented automated time sheet systems to streamline operations
- Handle payroll for multiple states and entities, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Prepare and review payroll reports, audits, and reconciliations
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi‑state and California payroll
- Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and regulations
- Experience with payroll systems and automated time tracking tools
- Proven ability to lead or mentor team members
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented with excellent problem‑solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
