Overview

The Senior Payroll Analyst will play a key role in overseeing day‑to‑day payroll operations, ensuring compliance, and leading a small team. This position requires a detail‑oriented, task‑driven professional with strong leadership capabilities and experience managing multi‑state payroll, including California.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily payroll tasks and ensure timely, accurate processing for 1,000 employees
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, with emphasis on California requirements
  • Supervise and guide two payroll administrators, providing mentorship and support
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Manager and report directly to the Director of Payroll
  • Assist in consolidating payroll processes for two entities
  • Utilize newly implemented automated time sheet systems to streamline operations
  • Handle payroll for multiple states and entities, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Prepare and review payroll reports, audits, and reconciliations
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, including multi‑state and California payroll
  • Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and regulations
  • Experience with payroll systems and automated time tracking tools
  • Proven ability to lead or mentor team members
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented with excellent problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
