Employment is within the Yale New Haven Health System, which includes Yale New Haven, Bridgeport, Greenwich, Lawrence + Memorial, and Westerly hospitals; several specialty networks; and Northeast Medical Group, a physician‑led multi‑specialty group.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Care:
    The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) implements accurate, safe, patient‑centric anesthetic care.
  • Professional Skill:
    Understands physiologic implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures, constantly monitors vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry during anesthesia according to ASA guidelines.
  • Information Management:
    Ensures appropriate documentation within the accordance of hospital and regulatory requirements and protects information of all forms.
  • Quality Management:
    Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care.
  • Professional Development:
    Continuously engages in projects that maintain and advance professional competency.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program; graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Educational Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs; current State of Connecticut Nursing License, APRN licensure in the State of Connecticut.
  • Experience: Prefer clinical working experience as a CRNA within the given specialty/service line, but none required. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs and CNMs required to be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process.
  • Licensure: AANA Certification, State of CT RN and APRN License, ACLS, DEA Registration and State of CT Controlled Substance Registration.

    Sharp concentration and focus, calm under stressful conditions, clear and effective communication with surgeons and the surgical support team and with patients and their families, immediate and responsive anesthetic patient management, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Physical Demand: Ability to demonstrate intellectual‑conceptual, integrative, and quantitative abilities; observe and interpret monitoring alarms; functional vision, hearing; stand for long periods; lift 25 pounds; move patients; maintain coordination; tolerate physically taxing workloads under stress.
