Civil CAD Technician - Swindon

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineering CAD Technician to join an established and rapidly expanding multi-disciplinary civil engineering consultancy in its Swindon office.

The Role

You will be involved in the preparation of detailed infrastructure designs for private and adoptable schemes across residential, commercial and leisure developments.

The role will include:

Preparing detailed civil and infrastructure designs
Working on residential, commercial and leisure developments
Liaising with clients, council officers and other design team members
Attending site visits and meetings alongside experienced colleagues
Developing your technical knowledge through on-project learning and external training
Working towards increasing responsibility and professional development

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

A HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject
Relevant experience within a civil engineering/infrastructure/construction environment
AutoCAD 2D experience - essential
3D CAD experience - desirable
Knowledge of PDS, Civil 3D, Site 3D and/or Info Drainage - desirable, although training will be provided
Good understanding of relevant technical guidance, such as Manual for Streets, DMRB and local highway standards - desirable
Strong numeracy, written and verbal communication skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
A logical and creative approach to problem solving
The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
A full UK driving licence - desirable
