Installation Engineer

This role involves the installation of CCTV, access control, door entry and art’s security systems to specified standards, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Working Hours & Travel
  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Location:

    within 1 h 30 min of South Wimbledon, primarily around the M25 with occasional sites elsewhere
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with CCTV or access control systems
  • Proficient computer network user
  • Valid ECS/FESS card for site‑based work
  • Valid clean driving licence (UK)
  • Strong background in installation of access control and CCTV systems
Responsibilities
  • Install CCTV, access control, door entry and art’s security systems to specified standards
  • Read job sheets, specification documents, site plans and attend project meetings (where relevant) and prepare all necessary equipment to complete jobs
  • Troubleshoot faults
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards and regulations
  • Participate in an on‑call rota for emergency call‑outs 1 week in 7
Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience and work history as an Installation Engineer
  • Knowledge of integrating CCTV, access control, and door entry systems into a cohesive security solution, including connecting devices to network infrastructure and configuring system settings for interoperability
  • Understanding of electrical principles and regulations to safely install power supplies, transformers, and backup batteries for CCTV, access control, and door entry systems, ensuring reliable operation and compliance with electrical standards
  • Proficiency in configuring system settings, user permissions, access levels, and other parameters using software applications or device interfaces to meet client requirements and operational needs
  • Diagnostic abilities to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good communications and excellent customer interactions
  • Valid driving licence for UK
Specific Equipment Experience
  • Hikvision, Hanwha, Avigilon, Eagle Eye and Vista (CCTV)
  • Paxton, ACT, Salto, Brivo and Gallagher (Access Control)
  • Fermax, BPT, Videx and 2N (Door Entry)
Compensation & Benefits
  • Overtime and Saturdays paid at a higher rate
  • Paid travel time
  • Sundays and public holidays paid twice the normal rate
