Van Driver

Job Description

Mango Solutions are looking for 2x van drivers for our waste removal company, based in Merton SW19

Job description :

• Driving the company vehicle adhering to UK road rules and regulations
• Carry out daily vehicles checks as per CRM system schedule
• Daily monitoring assigned vehicle’s maintenance requirements
• Communicating with management any vehicles’ fault, maintenance requirement and suspect occurrences
• Punctually report at the first job of the day as instructed from management
• Complete on the job risk assessments and job sheets as required and instructed on the CRM system
• Communicating with teammates and agreeing on safest and best loading solutions in the vehicle
• Assessing waste to be collected at client’s sites against company H&S standards and communicate any challenge / issue or potential hazard to management prior commencing the job
• Assessing waste to be collected at client’s sites against price given from the office and communicate to office any discrepancy between waste to be collected and price given to the client
• Securely loading of the vehicle
• Ensuring that the load is secured and the barn doors are safely closed at collection completed
• Preparing the vehicle for secure unloading at the recycling station
• Securing the barn doors once the vehicle has been unloaded at the recycling station
• Adhering to site H&S regulations when at client’s site or recycling stations
• Assisting management with on field training of new drivers
• Keeping clear and punctual communication with management on new staff training outcomes
• Communicating to management hours worked on daily basis
• The above list of duties is not exhaustive and such duties could occasionally vary depending on business needs

Qualifications :

• Education level : GCSE, H&S certifications preferred
• Experience : 1 year of driving in London a 3.5t vehicle, 1 year of waste management as loader / driver preferred
• Specific skills :
  Driving 3.5t vehicle, General manual handling
• Personal characteristics :
  Punctual, flexible, able to work on different shifts, good communicator, respectful, capable of implementing reasonable management instructions, inclusive and respectful of diversity
• Licenses : B Driver’s license, no more than 3 points on the license, absence of insurance claims in the past 3 years
• Physical abilities :
  Physically fit to driving, carrying out daily heavy lifting / manual handling duties

Must have own transport.

Must be minimum 25 years due to insurance

No set starting and finishing time.

Pay rate £13.85 per hour
