Learning Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of one of our specialist education partners in the Wimborne area for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026
.

We are seeking committed professionals who already have experience working within SEND settings and are able to hit the ground running
. You'll become part of a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, helping learners develop the confidence, communication skills and independence they need to thrive both inside and beyond education.

This role involves supporting young people with a range of additional needs throughout their educational journey. You'll work closely with teachers, therapists and other specialist staff to provide personalised support that enables learners to achieve meaningful progress academically, socially and emotionally.

Every day brings new opportunities to encourage independence, build positive relationships and help students overcome barriers to learning.

• Supporting learners with Autism, complex learning difficulties and associated additional needs.
• Assisting with classroom learning, practical activities and life skills development.
• Delivering personalised one-to-one and small group support.
• Encouraging confidence, communication and emotional regulation.
• Promoting positive behaviour through consistency, encouragement and structure.
• Supporting learners to achieve their individual education and personal development goals.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider support teams.
• Maintaining a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every learner can succeed.

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (essential).
