Field Service Engineer Midlands Based Up to £50,000 Car Are you a mechanically biased Engineer with experience working on CNC machinery? Looking for a varied role offering autonomy, regular travel and the opportunity to work on specialist industrial equipment? We're recruiting for a Mechanical Field Service Engineer to join an established engineering business, providing technical support to customers across the UK and occasionally internationally.
The Role Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on CNC machinery and associated equipment. Attend customer sites to diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues and complete mechanical repairs. Support the installation and commissioning of machinery. Work with hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems. Complete service reports following customer visits. Identify opportunities for machine upgrades and improvements. Work independently on customer sites while maintaining high standards of safety and service.
The Candidate Time served Engineer with a relevant mechanical engineering qualification. At least 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Fitter within a CNC machine environment. Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Able to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation. Electrical or PLC knowledge would be advantageous. Confident communicator organised and comfortable working independently. Flexible to travel extensively throughout the UK, with up to 4 nights away from home per week and occasional international travel.
