We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller to join a busy manufacturing team on a temporary contract. This role involves programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality precision components to tight tolerances. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering drawings, machining processes, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Program, set and operate Hurco CNC milling machines using Winmax control systems
Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and work instructions
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
Carry out machine offsets, tool changes, and adjust speeds and feeds as required
Monitor machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy
Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, verniers)
Complete production documentation and maintain accurate records
Perform routine machine maintenance and report faults
Work closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues
Follow health and safety regulations at all times
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient workspace
Undertake additional duties as required to meet business needs

Requirements

Essential:

Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience in a similar CNC milling role within a manufacturing/engineering environment
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T

Experience with a range of machining and work-holding methods
Knowledge of CNC controls (ISO, Heidenhain, etc.)
Good understanding of health and safety practices

Desirable:

Minimum 5 years' experience within a manufacturing environment
Experience machining a variety of materials
4/5 axis machining experience
At least 1 year's experience using Winmax conversational programming software

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 07::minutes unpaid lunch)
Friday: 07::30
