Under the direction of the Operating Surgeon, the Surgical Scrub Technician Certified First Assistant assists the surgical team delivering direct and indirect care to the patient in the Operating Room, providing quality healthcare through the development of an organizational climate that is professional, compassionate, and responsive to the patient, operating surgeon, and surgical team. Assists the surgical team in identifying patient needs and plans and initiates interventions for resolution when applicable.
Minimum Qualifications Education- Graduate of an accredited program for Surgical Scrub Technician
- Certified Surgical First Assist certification required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC) required within 7 days of hire
- One or more years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Technician with CSFA certification required
- Specific knowledge of surgical procedures required
- Extensive communication skills, team building skills, surgical assisting and instrumentation skills required
