Overview

Job Description - MT Accredited PRN ) at Clark Regional Medical Center

Collects specimens and performs laboratory testing in all areas of the clinical laboratory to aid providers in the diagnosis and/or monitoring of various disease states

• Performs order entry, phlebotomies, and collects other specimens such as urine drug screens when necessary
• Performs laboratory testing in all areas of the laboratory to include Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, Coagulation, Immunohematology, Microbiology, and Chemistry
• Performs routine maintenance tasks as designated for laboratory analyzers in all areas of the clinical laboratory
• Performs calibrations and quality control when required and is responsible for verifying the integrity of such testing
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
• Performs proficiency testing and linearity testing as assigned to maintain accrediting body compliance
• Assists in keeping policy and procedure manuals up to date
• Assists in keeping supplies at adequate levels by completing weekly departmental inventories
• Participates in hospital wide and departmental performance improvement activities

Education:

• Bachelor s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology

Licensure/Certification s/Registrations:

• MT or MLS (ASCP) or MT (AMT) or MT(HEW) or MT (NCA)
